It's my honor and pleasure to welcome you all to the Model of the United Nations "Benamun 2007". Through this website we will give you all the information related to Benamun. First of all, I would like to tell you about the objectives that we want to achieve. As a first point, it is very important to recall one of the most important steps of the United Nations:

It was on December 10th 1948 that The Universal Declaration of Human Rights finally became an extraordinary example of how human beings can work together to achieve international cooperation. At that time, the 58 members of the UN were representing a wide variety of ideologies, political systems, religions and cultures. Besides, everyone made a big effort to let the spirit of every single culture play an important role in such Declaration. All participants discussed, checked almost every word in the text and finally voted 1400 times before the joyful end. Then, all those efforts were turned to the first international consensus ever made.

Almost 60 years have passed from that day and the declaration still stands, stronger than ever. It has become a main axis for the international community.

Now we are facing a time that requires equal efforts to deal with. But, before that, we have to remember that Union is the only way to reach goals and continue proudly being the" United Nations".

Let this year be the year when cooperation becomes the essential characteristic of mankind. Let's work together to reach world peace and growth. Let's start changing our future now!
