Last Wednesday, March 13th the students in level 120 performed two plays written by two well-known playwrights. “The Phantom of the Opera” (by Gaston Leroux) and “The Model Millionaire” (by Oscar Wilde). The Phantom of the Opera was presented in video format and The Model Milionaire was performed alive. This event took place at the Salomon Leclercq auditorium and groups from different levels attended the event.
Everybody in the class was involved in the project in order to have a succesful performance. Students rehearsed for several days with their teachers´ help. They prepared the play for several days and at the end they achieved their goal.
When students participate actively perfoming art activities, they develop different skills necessary in life and work such as dedication, commitment, teamwork, perseverance. They also develop strong critical-thinking skills as well as confidence, concentration, cooperation and creativity.
Through drama, students can develop their communicative skills because they express themselves both verbally and through facial and body language.
