On Wednesday October 11th students in English levels 115 and 120 prepared a special presentation of their English projects at Salomon Leclercq auditorium that reflected their daily work to date, and their current acquisition of key skills in the English language learning process.
115 level presented a MUSICAL GENERATION PROJECT where they were asked to present an artist or musical group of the MILLENNIAL generation with a power point presentation and a simple choreography.
120 level presented a HOUSING PROJECT where they taped and showed a video sketch of a real estate agent selling a property using key words and vocabulary seen in class, demonstrating their pronunciation and fluency in language usage.
These projects were the perfect opportunity for them to use oral English language and develop key communicative strategies such as: tolerance to different accents, tactics to check for understanding (their own and others’), self-awareness of what makes it easy or difficult to be understood by a diversity of audiences in different situations.
La Salle Benavente school teachers are aware that these projects have proven helpful for all students to see the importance of English language knowledge for their university studies and expect to continue with this sort of work which in addition has been enjoyable to organize and witness.
